biography

Eric Berg is a saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist from Long Island, New York. Shaped by early influences of hip-hop and Latin music, he later dove into classical and jazz studies, forging a distinctive voice on the saxophone. His versatility has taken him around the world, performing everything from jazz and salsa to afrobeat, funk, pop, and rock.

A graduate of the Crane School of Music and Arizona State University’s Herberger Institute, Eric studied with virtuoso Dr. Chris Creviston and pianist Mike Kocour before touring with the afrobeat band Big Mean Sound Machine, expanding his improvisational style and sound.

He’s performed at the sold-out Beacon Theatre with Guster, played with the Capitol Saxophone Quartet and Ft. Wayne Symphony, appeared with Lee Konitz, and headlined the Grassroots Festival, captivating audiences with his cinematic solos.

An active educator, Eric has taught saxophone, flute, clarinet, and improvisation to students of all ages. His latest project, The Chordless Quartet, serves as a musical autobiography—melding groove, texture, and improvisation into a sound that reflects his journey and influences.
